I didn’t build this website because someone gave me permission.
I built it because no one was listening, and the silence was breaking me.
Fair Housing Change Alliance was created out of pain, but more than that, it came from a deep responsibility to speak. While I was suffering from chronic illness. While I was ignored. While I watched others suffer in silence. I made a promise:
If I ever got my strength back, I wouldn’t just survive. I would build something for those who couldn’t speak yet. I would testify.
This movement wasn’t created with grants or fame. It came from lived experience and a commitment to truth.
I have seen elders left alone in apartments infested with pests; disabled tenants forced to repeaedly tear down and rebuild their homes during inspections or treatments; a Russian neighbor who never received a translator and could not ask others for help as she suffered with her dog alone; Property managers taking advantage of tenants who didn’t know their rights
And I know this story because I lived it.
I’ve faced retaliation, neglect, and violations of my disability rights.
I’ve seen how people with epilepsy, PTSD, and invisible conditions are treated like they don’t matter.
But here’s what they didn’t expect:
A man stuck in bed, still asking, “What can I give back?” A minister who kept serving, even after trauma attacked his body. A voice that refused to stay quiet. This site is not for show.
It’s not just a blog or an organization. It’s a message to the people who are still being hurt:
You are not invisible.
You are not alone.
And you are not powerless.
This is more than a complaint. It’s a covenant.

A promise that I will speak the truth.
That I will fight for the people who’ve been ignored.
That I will stand, even if I have to stand alone.
If you’ve lived this, this site is for you.
If you’re still going through it, you’re not alone.
And if you’re only now learning, then I invite you to listen.
We’re not just raising awareness.
We’re raising the standard.
